Initial Setup - Creating a Hotelier Account

Right you have made a great choice.  Go to http://www.bedandbreakfasts.ie/

Click <B&B Hotel Owners Advertise Here> from the left hand pane.

Enter “Your First Name”, “Your Last Name”, Email Address”, “Create a Username” (You Choose), “Create a Password” (You Choose) and click <Submit>

You have now created a http://www.bedandbreakfasts.ie Hotelier Account.  There are several sections within this.  We will look at each of these individually.

Hotelier Account Functionality - My Account - My Profile

This is the Hotelier Start Page.  Scroll down it gives an overview on your account from which you can get to all areas of the site. Options include <My Listings>, <My Credits>, <My Transactions>, <My Traffic>, <My Profile>, <My Suppliers>, <My Guestbook>, <Help>

Hover over <My Account> and select <My Profile>

From “My Profile” you can edit your Name, Email Address and Password.

Note:  You cannot edit Username

Hotelier Account Functionality - My Listings - Create a Listing

Click My Listings, from here you can create and edit your listings.

You do not yet have any Listings.  So Click <Add a Listing>

Hotelier Account Functionality - My Listings – Edit Listing

Click <Edit Listing>

You are returned to the previous Edit Screen.  From here you can amend your listings and also change your photograph.

Also note there is an additional Status Drop Down Box. Should all your rooms be booked you can change this from "Online" to "Offline Suspended" When this is set to "Offline Suspended" your property will not appear in the results and thus you will conserve credits. Do not forget to set it back to Online.

Note:  The “Suggested Number of Credits for 1 Years Traffic is a calculated indicator of how many credits you will require based upon forecasted credit use. So in this case 1 credit has been used in 1 month thus 12 Credits would be required. (Obviously only 1 day of the month has so far been accounted for, but after a month this is a very accurate representation)

I can now go to My Credits which will show 49 credits (50 minus the 1 we just used simulating a user)

Hotelier Account Functionality - My Credits - Overview and Initial 10 Euro Free Credits

When you sign up we give you 10 Euro worth of credits FREE.

Click <My Credits>.

Many sites use a fixed fee, however if you are a large Hotel in central Dublin or a popular tourist spot you are likely to generate more traffic than a small guest house in a tiny village, therefore we use a credit system so you can pay for as many or as few results as you like.  The more you buy the cheaper it is.

When your property is returned in search results by a user searching, it can be clicked on to Send you an Email or To view you website.  When this occurs a credit is deducted from your Credits.

The amount of credits you have is displayed in “My Credits”

From this page you can buy more credits (Remember you have 50 free).  For larger amounts you can pay using a cheque.  For the 2 smallest amounts this is simply not cost effective due to admin and banking costs.  We use a secure payment server which encrypts traffic when paying online so its safe.

Hotelier Account Functionality - My Guestbook

On this page integration of my Guestbook is described the easiest way is just to link from your website to the URL shown as on the image below. Whilst doing this you may wish to also consider implementing our FREE For Life advertising.

Enter Name, Where From, Your Message, Enter Anti Spam Code and click Submit. The Guestbook is updated, which is the same as doing a new View Guestbook

How Can I get More Traffic?

There are 2 ways to get more traffic. It is worth noting that the second way traffic based links, directly influences your position in the Search Results.

1) Come Higher in the Search Results.
2) Get Traffic based links from Restaurants, Councils, Bars, Attractions, Theatres, Universities, Nightclubs, Sporting Venues, Gardens, Parks, Clubs, Comedy Clubs etc to pages that feature your property.

a) Make a list of every one of these that is near you. Most will have websites.

b) Search for them on the internet and if they have a website ask them to add a one of the pages below to their links page to show nearby accommodation. This way you derive custom from their website and they provide a facility to allow people who require accommodation to visit them.

Using the Ireland Geocoder to Gain More Traffic
